Stuart Harrison (Chairman)
A corporate financier and non-executive director with over 20 years commercial and city experience. Previously Chairman of a large ABTA / ATOL licensed Leisure Group, Stuart is currently a partner in a London based corporate finance boutique (The Corporate Finance Group) and he holds 3 non-executive positions with U.K. companies. He is the Chairman of a Charity (CASC 05772) in Gloucestershire.
Stuart and his IAG team are currently advising several governments on aviation infrastructure specialising in MRO’s and Academies, Airlines and procurement. Stuart holds an international motor racing license and is a keen skier.
Howard Nash MBE Retired Wing Commander (RAF)
A highly experienced helicopter operator with 26 years experience in both the military and civil sectors who has operated in almost every part of the world and under most conditions. Qualified on multiple types with full ATPL (IR), he has combined this experience with commercial activity that has delivered business valued in excess of ₤250 million for a range of international companies in the defence and security sectors on both fixed wing and rotary aircraft. He has a broad range of experience covering specialist aircraft support solutions, infrastructure projects and airport development as well as aircraft sales and acquisitions. He has also had sole responsibility for leading teams that have devised and delivered highly complex integrated engineering and aircraft support solutions around the world.
Chris spent 11 years as an aviation finance specialist at Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFG (BTMU) and before that for 12 years with ECGD, the UK’s official export credit agency. There he was Head of Country Policy for Europe and sub-Saharan Africa for 5 years and the Director heading the Aerospace and Defence team for 6 years. Chris has huge experience in winning and closing deals with intense timescales and complex competing interests, with particular expertise in sourcing commercial and ECA debt for both airlines and operating lessors and high level industry contacts in all areas of aviation finance on a worldwide basis.
With Chris on board IAG intends to expand our aviation finance capabilities and offer comprehensive financial solutions to both fixed wing and rotary customers.
Malcolm Cox heads up our MRO and Engineering division. Malcolm has over 30 years experience built upon the solid foundations of a RAF Halton Apprenticeship and 22 years service in the RAF at home and abroad finishing his military career as an Engineering Officer. Since leaving the Service he has had a number of high profile appointments supporting some Europe’s leading low-cost carriers as a service provider with responsibility for continuing airworthiness management. As a practicing aircraft maintenance manager, he brings a strong commercial focus to the application of regulatory compliance – some of Malcolm’s experience includes:
- Albanian Airlines – Interim Technical Director – manage the transition from local Albanian approval to EASA Part 145 and Part M Continued Airworthiness Management approval, 6 months project, subject to two EASA Standardisation Team visits, the “roadmap” to approval was accepted and monitored. Project ended due to financial issues within the airline.
- Fly BN Limited – full responsibility for all aspects of the service provided to a worldwide community of 850 Islander, Defender and Trislander operators and active in the development of a military approval system based on the EASA approval systems. Responsibility for 30+ staff, annual budget of €10m+.
- Eurocopter UK – Interim Post Holder for Planning (McAlpine Helicopters) the role of the project was to restore CAA confidence in the Completions centre, provide EC UK with repeatable and accurate planning data to support sales function. Increased management visibility of the true cost of sales.
- Eurocopter UK – Business Process Re-engineering at EC UK, the role of the project was to remove surplus and redundant processes and procedures from the management system, focus on aircraft availability and customer satisfaction.
With nearly 40 years experience in the global helicopter industry, Jock Simpson has almost unrivalled knowledge and expertise of creating solutions in the most inhospitable environments. For a large part of his career, Jock was Executive Director of Dollar Helicopters where he managed programmes as diverse as UNHCR Contracts in Pakistan, seismic survey work in Yemen and mineral exploration in Venezuela. He is a specialist in Aviation HSE and undertakes Aviation Safety Audits throughout the world. He is also an expert in helicopter support to major power line construction projects and has advised a range of government agencies and major companies. There are few problems that Jock has not faced and his ability to deliver innovative solutions to intractable problems in a safe and efficient is well established. Recently – a Client Rep to Woodside Exploration June 2007 – December 2007, Mauritania on AeroMag/Gravity Survey Mauritania. Aviation Safety Adviser – Statoil/Hydro, Iran July- November 2008 on Heliportable Siesmic Operation. Various Helicopter/Fixed Audits, CGG Veritas, Libya and Turkey, South Africa, Namibia, Madagascar, Mozambique, Egypt, Indonesia, Portugal. Aviation Adviser to PDG Helicopters – Emphasis on Business Develop and major construction contracts.
Over 30 years of experience in operating and supporting General Aviation Fixed and Rotary wing operations both in Europe and Africa, from bush flying and aerial application to corporate. Other activities have included all aspects of Airshow organisation and management. Currently Owner and Managing Director of Ross Aviation Ltd, a company specialising in the spares support and repair and overhaul of components for civil and military turboprop aircraft and helicopters. Other projects undertaken by Ross Aviation have included the provision of spares for a large quantity of today’s flying historic aircraft, including the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and the Royal Naval Historic Flight, to world record breaking Balloon flights.
David Webber B.Eng(Hons) RAF Retd.
University graduate with a First Class Honours Degree, he had seven years in the electronic engineering industry during the technology/’blue chip’ boom prior to joining the Royal Air Force as a commissioned officer/pilot. His 16-year military flying career took him worldwide on numerous high-profile operations as a senior supervisor and flight commander. Specialist roles included ‘Covert Surveillance Operator’, ‘Special Forces Commander’, ‘VIP Captain’ and ‘Airtest Pilot’. Having self-funded his Commercial Pilots Licence and Instrument Rating he made the transition in to Police aviation, supervising a 24/7 capability as the Chief Pilot of a consortium of Forces, whilst providing subject matter expertise to national level projects for Government and National agencies. He recently moved in to the Air Ambulance sector therefore completing a full package in the emergency service environment. In parallel, he is the co-Director of a consultancy-based aviation company with successful projects delivered to key Middle-East Government organisations.
Douglas Mackay (UK Police Inspector ret’d)
A highly motivated and experienced Police helicopter operator. With 37 years of operational law enforcement expertise including serious criminal investigation and specialist search. In addition is experienced in firearms and diplomatic protection duties with advanced Police driving qualifications to the highest level. A qualified FAA commercial pilot with SEP instrument rating. He has commanded a multi helicopter/multi-base aviation unit with sole responsibility for the delivery of Police air support. He is conversant and tactically current in Police airborne operations. During this time has led and delivered 3 multi-million pound aircraft acquisition projects. These have placed in service complex integrated systems state of the art Police helicopters across the UK. He has broad range of knowledge in respect of management/recruitment of resources and interacting with multiple agencies. He has also had sole responsibility for leading teams that have developed bespoke Police helicopter operations bases including sophisticated ICT interfaces for command and control. During 2012 he headed our team which delivered a comprehensive review of Police Operations for a Middle East state culminating in the production of a Police air operations manual.
Dr Roger Saunders – Group Marketing Director
An author and researcher who has undertaken a number of projects on behalf of the World Bank and a part time Consultant with the WHO. Roger was Chair of the Sussex Universities Military Education Committee for some ten years. He joined the Royal Air Force as an Aircraft Apprentice at RAF Locking where he studied radar for three years. He served for nine years prior to going to University. He gained an MA, MPhil, PHD and a DMS and to fund his research and keep himself active, he joined the Territorial Army and served for some 17 years retiring in 1991. Since then he has undertaken many large projects in various parts of the world. He joined IAG as Group Marketing Director in 2012 and is currently heading up a forensic project for the Indonesian Government.
An aviation professional for over 30 years, he has unparalleled global experience of providing aircraft sales and spares support solutions for all Russian helicopters as he was a Director of Kazan helicopters for over 20 years. With a highly developed network across the all the main manufacturing plants and component suppliers, he can source any spares, tools and Ground Support Equipment. He has an in depth knowledge of the processes required to expedite export licenses against valid end user certificates so that the right spares arrive at the right place at the right price.
